Merge to Embers takes the same warm-gold core as the rest of the catalog and turns the heat up. Where Velvet Beat holds back, this track leans into weight — low end that sits under the chest, half-time drops built more for impact than technicality, melodic lines that keep singing even while the bass is doing the heavy lifting. It's the closest thing in the KodKod catalog to festival-stage energy, without losing the melodic core the whole project is built around.

The title comes from the idea of two separate things — a fragile, melodic top line and an aggressive low end underneath — burning down into a single texture instead of staying in their own lanes. That merge is deliberate: layered pads and vocal-style chops are pitched and processed until they sit inside the bass instead of on top of it, so the drop feels like one thing intensifying rather than two things colliding.

Production-wise it's the most maximalist of the three releases, built loud on purpose, then dialed back just enough to stay wearable on headphones. Structurally it's the middle chapter of the arc — after Velvet Beat's quiet build, before Unravel Satin's release — the moment restraint finally gives way to heat, right before it burns down into something calmer again.
